What is the Graduate Route visa for Nigerian Student ?
With the Graduate Route visa, students that are set to graduate in summer 2021 and onwards will be able to remain in the country for the duration of 2 years. This new rule applies to both bachelor’s and master’s degrees, regardless of your area of study. Applications for the Graduate Route visa are now open to apply online.
You don’t need to be sponsored by an employer to be eligible for the Graduate Route Visa so you don’t need to already have a job set in stone when you apply. There are also no restrictions on the kind of job or work you can do during the 2 years, as well as no minimum salary requirements. This is a chance to look for roles related to your degree or gain experience working in other areas.
The new route is also very flexible for students, you don’t need to be employed continuously in the same job as you were on the Graduate Route visa. So if you decide to take some time out, or change jobs in between, it won’t count against you or your visa.
The Graduate Route differs for Ph.D. students. You will be able to work in the UK for up to 3 years after completing your doctoral degree.
