What is Link Juice?
Link Juice, literally “Link Juice”, is a term used to indicate the value that a site acquires thanks to the links it receives or gives through outgoing links.
In this article you will find out what link juice is , how it works, how to better organize your website.
What is the link juice of a website or a blog?
Link juice is the amount of links present within a site, and allows us to understand how much our “juice” (ie the ability of our site to transfer authority and thus improve the positioning of another site) is diluted, or rather how concentrated it is.
How to measure link juice?
At this point it is important to understand how to measure the link juice of a website?
The idea of writing this article comes from a comment received yesterday, in which a user wrote to me “I did not know that the links I insert on my site have a specific weight …”.
Basically, the fewer links there are within a website, the more powerful the links there are!
Translated in a nutshell, if a website has 100 links within its pages (and it is not enough to count only the links present in the article, you must also count all the links present in the header, in the footer, in the sidebar, …) the strength of the site will be distributed among the various links losing consistency with the increase in the number of links, and vice versa, the fewer links there are, the more these links will be considered valid, useful, important by search engines.
Google prefers a person who links a few, but good, content rather than a site that links a lot of resources, but not very valid.
This is why the link exchange is not very appreciated by Google, and, if yesterday it was possible to reach a Pr (Page Rank) of 3 in a short time, playing a lot on the “Link exchange”, today it is more difficult to grab the page rank!
If you want to learn more about this topic I suggest you also read the article How to do link building .
Basically, link juice is the strength that a site has to transmit authority to another website, and is measured on the basis of the number of links present within a site.
This does not mean that you will no longer have to link to anyone, and / or that you will have to delete all the links on your pages, but simply that you will have to review your strategy, avoid unnecessary links and insert only the most interesting and valid links, the ones you really think. useful and that can offer support and a “plus” for the user who visits your site.
So, in short, yes to links in articles that lead to other interesting articles, to external resources, to quality, but no to links that are of no use to anyone except to do a bit of “spam”, and to all those links that they are “superfluous”.
Think of your blog as a bed and breakfast: people come to your site, spend a few tens of minutes, look for information and leave: if they are happy they will certainly come back to you, but if they have found a lot of confusion, too many junk and a poorly maintained place, I don’t think they will come back to visit you again or book the night from you! As a sage said some time ago, less is more!
And what is your relationship with links?
Did you already know the concept of link juice?
Have you ever counted all the links on your blog or website? I did it some time ago and I realized that there were so many (although we often don’t realize it)!
I’m sure you will have at least 40 on your home page, try to count them yourself !!!
Good job online and thanks for reading Monetizing!
